Read Books Online for Free!

We Give Books is a free website that enables anyone with access to the Internet to put books in the hands of children who don’t have them, simply by reading online. For each online book you read, We Give Books will donate a book to a leading literacy group on your behalf. The more you read, the more they give!

The Screen Actors Guild Foundation provides an on-line streaming video program that features SAG members reading children’s books aloud!

Battle of the Books

America’s Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12.  The purpose is simply to encourage students to read a variety of good books and have fun while competing with peers.

Interested students will be part of a team of 4 students. Each team will read as many books as possible from the book list for their grade. In March, teams will come together for a competition tournament where they will work as a team to answer questions about the book from the list. There are 20 books on each grade level list. Students do not have to read every book on the list, however, the more books each person on the team reads the better chance they have when answering questions about the books in a battle.
